A wild heart, a creative soul, a carnival.
Sticky sugar, glittery sequins, crushed grass, sharp breath, swirling, stepping, swishing. The carnival is intoxicating, urgent, magical, alluring and mysterious. Darkness is cut with light. The night is spent dined out on creativity, passion and pursuit and leaves each person transfixed by the eclectic noise and brilliant colour. Creativity just like the carnival can be full of adventure, vulnerability, joy and heartbreak. Perhaps a little quieter, a little more elusive and sometimes a little lonelier both are home to wild hearts, those who are different, endlessly curious and of course courageous.
Chasing words
Sometimes words are smooth and well rounded, articulating the ambivalent, the difficult to define, the felt sense. And other times there are too many commas, I overlook spelling mistakes and the words don’t get out quite right, they stumble over each other, illustrating the sharpness of my vulnerability but the familiarity of honesty. I love good symbolism, even better in an analogy or as a metaphor and I am attracted to the grey, the complex cross-over, the nuanced depths. I am glad you are here. I get excited to share my meaning making, the keen observer. I don’t always get it right but i hope to get you thinking, mostly I hope you feel connected. To your creativity but also to others. I hope you find that art is your muse.
Just for you
It’s so easy to hold back, to feel unsure, to ruminate in your doubt, to wonder where parts of you went. We all oscillate between relentless hope, sparkling joy and imprisoning self awareness. Art Muse is for you, exactly as you may be; an imperfect human with all the feelings. It’s for those that thrive on creativity wherever that may be found, for those that value inclusiveness and kindness, who are endlessly curious and above all else have a big heart.
In a noisy world, i hope art muse gives you comfort, i hope it sparks your creativity. In addition to running Sunflower and Ivy in person, cuddles with my dog and painting I will be publishing on here monthly. Perhaps a little more often on those wet and cold and cosy afternoons. I would love for you to join me.
